"...for other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid: Jesus Christ." 1 Cor. 3:11 This morning, Paul makes a remarkable point: Christians are 'architects'. Paul uses that word to describe himself (vs 10: Gr. "architekton"); and in similar terms he describes us all: we are builders, building our lives and building our church. The burning question, of course, has to be: Are we building it well; will it last? From Pastor Rod Schorr's series on 1 Corinthians: To the Saints at Sin City

"...are you not being merely human?" 1 Cor. 3:4 In the wake of all their jealousies and strife, Paul asked the Corinthian Christians: "When you do these things, are you not being merely human?" What a strange question! Of course we are "merely human"! Isn't that what we're supposed to be? Isn't that what we really are? Incredibly enough, the answer is "no". Not since you've know Christ! And if you truly are in Christ, may you never again us the excuse: "After all, I'm only human." From Pastor Rod Schorr's series on 1 Corinthians: To the Saints in Sin City

"Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor can the mind of man imagine the things that God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9 The world has been calling Christians "stupid", "deranged", and "uneducated" since the Gospel began! So it shouldn't surprise us now. But- praise God!- we have been given a "wisdom" that this world will never grasp! Hang on to it dear Christians, and do all that you can to help others "see" it! Matthew 2: 1- 3 "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he was has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.' When Herod the king hear this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him."

In the end, when all is said and done, there will only be: Two things worth knowing. "...for I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." 1 Cor. 2:2 It is entirely possible to know too much; especially when it comes to our need for salvation. Unsaved seekers balk at the "simplicity" of the Gospel; their knowledge gets in the way! Cults, heresies and eccentric churches are man-centered; full of their own knowledge, with no real interest or patience for the only two thing worth knowing: Christ and the Cross.

Genesis 22 part 2 where we look at God's provision. Genesis 22: 14 "So Abraham calle the name of that place, 'The Lord will provide'; as it is said to this day, 'On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided."
