"For Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regrets." 2 Cor 7: 10 NIV "Sorrow never comes too late and happiness too swiftly flies," is Thomas Gray's sad assessment of life. But isn't this Word of God refreshing? Not all sorrow is bad! Some sorrow is definitely needed; can't come soon enough, in fact! And you will never find true happiness without it. Let's dive in... "But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us..." 2 Cor 7:6 "No pity extends to the prideful man, who carries his own comfort with him." Wow! What a thought! Could it be that our present, carefree generation is just crafting its own "comfort" using self-made baubles and frauds? Oh, this world is in desperate need of real comfort, and there is only One who can bring it! "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers." 2 Cor 6: 14 Isn't it remarkable? Last week we were exhorted to be "big-hearted" people, not "small; with generous affections, not "narrow" (2 Cor 6: 11-13). We must "open our hearts" and love this lost world as God "so loved" it. But now, this morning, we are warned not to be "yoked"! What does that mean?

Pastor Dave gives us an update on his trip to Asia, then we get into Exodus chapter 7. "They did just as the Lord commanded them," a verse that is very important in this chapter. This verse is a perfect example of the definition of Faith: The one who believes God and obeys. The Bible talks about Pharaoh hardening his heart towards God which means an unrelenting heart which is anchored against God, and then it talks about God hardening Pharaoh's hearts which means God is allowing Pharaoh's heart to harden more. Be wary not to become like Pharaoh allowing your heart to be harden towards God. Have a tender heart because every time God moves it is an opportunity for you to experience His Grace.

"Our heart is wide open...but you are restricted in your affections." 2 Cor 6: 11,12 Let's face it: we are living in an ever narrowing age! We confine ourselves to the iPhone and the web. We 'unfriend' people with a single click. We filter our news; we guard our 'safe space'. Worst of all, we tighten the confines of our worship and fellowship! And none of like Christ.

"Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us." 2 Cor 5:20 ESV Isn't it amazing? Christ has His "ambassadors" in every corner of the world! And you, year Christian, are one of them; if you are faithful to your Savior. What does it mean to be an "ambassador"? Well, the answer to that question can be challenging, unnerving and--oh!--so richly rewarding!
